Common questions
We pay for concurrent licenses today. How does Axiospec count users?
It does not. Every plan includes unlimited users and the free plan is no exception. You add the quality manager and the second shift lead without checking a number first. IndySoft is open about its own model and it is a fair one. Its docs describe core client licensing as concurrent rather than named seat. They also describe mix and match across Calibration Management, Commercial Lab Management, Read Only and MetCal Import. Core Scripting and Field Service Loan need one license each to turn the feature on for everyone. Ask IndySoft what your agreement covers.
How does a rollout across several plants work?
There is no per site install. Axiospec is cloud native. A new plant signs in from a browser or the mobile app on day one. There is no client to push to workstations and no database to create. Users are unlimited on every plan. Adding people at a second site does not change your bill. We can bring sites over one at a time. The import wizard imports the rows that pass and lists the rest by file line and reason. A registry load lands as one batch an admin can undo from the dashboard. IndySoft documents License Pooling for this situation, which reserves licenses for specific groups. It has been in the product since version 9.2.3.
We are a commercial lab and we bill customers for calibration work. Should we move?
Probably not, and you should hear that from us before you spend a week on it. IndySoft publishes Commercial Lab Management as its own license type. If billing customers is the business then that is a real fit. We do not have an equivalent and we do not do customer billing. Axiospec tracks your own equipment. Assets, calibration records, uncertainty budgets and the audit trail. Two more things worth crediting on their side. Field Service Loans lets a field workstation borrow a license from the pool, work offline and sync back afterward. IndySoft also runs US and UK offices with separate sales and support lines. That matters if you need European coverage.
What file do we need to get out of IndySoft?
Whatever your edition lets you produce. IndySoft documents an export that writes a zip file. It is group and sub-group based and you can filter the records inside each sub-group. It also documents the Ultra API. The OData side supports read and write and the GraphQL side is read only. One thing to plan around. We did not find a published table and field list on the pages we checked in September 2026. A current customer can still read the schema interactively through the Swagger UI and the GraphiQL explorer, which expose primary keys and field lengths per entity. Send us the file you can produce and we map it. White-glove migration is free on every plan including the free one. We work from your export file. We do not work inside IndySoft.
Do past calibrations come across as records or as notes?
As records. Each past calibration imports as its own dated event with its result. It is not a note pasted onto an asset. The import wizard maps your columns and validates every row before anything saves. Each batch imports the rows that pass and lists the rest by file line and reason. A registry load lands as one batch an admin can undo from the dashboard. From go live onward every calibration writes to a tamper-evident hash-chained audit trail with e-signatures. Records tailor to the standard your workspace selects. That is tailoring and not a compliance guarantee.
How do technicians log work on the shop floor?
From the phone in their pocket. Axiospec ships native iOS and Android apps on every plan including free, alongside full browser access. The current version is 1.6.6. A technician scans a QR code, logs a reading by voice and prints a label from the same record. IndySoft publishes two companion apps of its own. IndyGo handles asset scanning and inventory on mobile devices. EasyCert browses and downloads calibration data from a barcode. Browser access to the full client comes through its WebTier component. Its docs say IndySoft technicians normally assist with that install and recommend that route.
Can we put the two prices side by side?
Ours are on the site. Axiospec is $0 for up to 50 active assets on the free plan with the full platform. Paid plans are $59, $129 and $229 per month. Every plan includes unlimited users and free migration. We did not find any pricing on the IndySoft pages we checked in September 2026. The routes we found there are a contact form and a scheduled demo. We did not find a self-serve signup or trial either. Ask IndySoft for a quote so you can compare it with our published prices.

Certificate PDFs and scanned attachments come across too. Those are the part that most often needs a conversation, so raise them early. The work runs over email and does not tie up your calendar. It is free on every plan, including the free plan. Keep your existing system running until you have signed off on the loaded data.
How you would leave us
Export your data yourself, at any time, on any plan including the free one. That covers the asset register, the calibration history as per-event records, and the certificate files. There is no exit fee. You are reading this page because you are leaving a system you already bought, so ask us this question the same way you are asking it of them. Ask it before you migrate rather than after.
